About Me
Who is Travis Weil
I am a Mountain Guide and Instructor based in the Cascades of Washington State. My goal is to help people enjoy and experience the mountains whether by hiring me to take them into the mountains or by helping my guests to develop the skills needed for them to experience them on their own. I love teaching students technical systems, ways to be efficient and manage risks, and how to move in the mountains with hands and feet or on skis.
I grew up in one of the least mountainous places in the US, the St. Louis area, where I spent my time playing typical sports and spending time outside hunting and fishing. It was there that I learned to appreciate the natural beauty in this world. After experiencing climbing in the Ozarks, I began to fall in love with more vertical terrain. I started guiding and instructing climbing in western North Carolina and honed my rock guiding skills at places like Looking Glass and Linville Gorge. I eventually moved to the Cascades to expand my skill sets into alpine guiding and skiing.
