Ingalls Peak

Ingalls Peak Climbs

Duration

1+ Days

About the Course

Ingalls Peak, located just south of Mount Stuart, is a great place to dip your toes into alpine rock climbing. The rock here is Peridotite which has an orange hue and can feature areas of serpentine, a glassy green rock. The peak is also located just above Lake Ingalls which can be a great place for a quick dip after a summer climb.

Ingalls Peak host two popular routes on its north peak, South Ridge and the East Ridge. The South Ridge (5.4-5.6) climbs more like a face climb with 4-5 pitches of enjoyable cracks and slab ending just below the actual summit. The East Ridge (5.7) climbs from the notch between the east and north peaks and go west along the ridge to the summit of the north peak. It offers ample exposure and fun scrambling. It is a great route to prep for bigger alpine rock objectives in the Cascades.

A trip into Ingalls Peak can be done as one or multiple days with a single day trip being about 10 hours long.
